ONCE I settled into my job at Keynsham Library time seemed to whizz by. Our children were growing up fast - almost too fast, in fact, although not, thank goodness, with the speed young children seem to today.

There wasn't the commercialism aimed at youngsters then and, to be truthful, they didn't have enough pocket money to be worth exploiting as they are today.
