He was born in London, but moved to Bristol in the 1970s. Philip spent his life being determined to achieve all he could and showed this through his sporting career, despite suffering with cerebral palsy. He became a dedicated sportsman, achieving a gold medal for archery in the 1984 Paralympics in New York. Although he ventured in many sporting fields, bowls became his life.
