M OTHER-of-two Karen Partridge has complained about the "shoddy" resurfacing of her road in Montrose Park, Brislington: "Road surface made a mess of my carpet", (Evening Post, October 6).

I wonder if Ms Partridge would have preferred it if the headline had read: "Road a mess having not been resurfaced for years"? In fairness to the powers-that-be, perhaps the item should have been headed: "Ignorant residents park their cars in road, despite requests that they don't, meaning that council can't clean up properly after resurfacing has taken place".
