THE "unsophisticated theft" of a joint of beef from Asda in Bedminster has led to a large fine for a reformed heroin addict.

Clare Geater did pay for the meat on October 14 but, instead of buying it for Pounds 6.81, she only paid 30p at the self-service check-out after switching the price sticker for one on a reduced cake.
