hatever you think of La Riva, you have to admire the sheer confidence of the owners of this new Italian restaurant. Occupying the site of the former Beijing Bistro noodle bar, La Riva is opposite long-established Italian restaurant Vincenzo, and just a few yards from Jamie's Italian.
Whether it's confidence or simply Italian swagger, opening another restaurant so close to direct competition is a brave move. It's a contemporary place spread across two levels, with red paintwork matched by red leather seats.
