Wednesday, September 9: Avon and Somerset police have apologised to motorists who were left stranded on the M5 for more than six hours after the Avonmouth Bridge in Bristol was closed ahead of the August bank holiday weekend.

Some people would really have police running up and down with water, ice creams, popcorn and binoculars, like some kind of outtake from The Life of Brian. If I was in a car and had a family crisis surely survival instinct kicks in, get out and walk, not bang my fists on the metalwork demanding I want I want... Stuff in life happens, move on.
