BRISTOL: A rare silver coin made during the Civil War has been sold for Pounds 600.

Although the half-crown has a face value of about 13p in today's money, it would have been enough to live on for more than a week in 1643, when it was minted in the city to pay Royalist soldiers involved in the Siege of Bristol.
