We're All Harry Potty ; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part One ... It's Been the Big Movie of the Year so Far so Banter Writers Went Along to Find Out What the Fuss Is All About

Summary

'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part One' has been anticipated by fans of both the books and films since the very first one hit our screens nine years ago - and in my opinion, it delivered.

Being an intense fan of the books myself, every film has so far disappointed me in some way, but the split into two films has allowed a lot of detail to be included, and instead of trying to cram in the all plot twists and turns into one short feature, the storyline is given the breathing space it needs. While the film does have minor short-comings - Ginny, played by Bonnie Wright, is consistently not believable as a romantic heroine, even in her very short on-screen time, and Harry's internal struggle about what kind of a person he believes Dumbledore had been is difficult to portray onscreen - the overall effect is astounding, and the ending left the audience in my screening desperate for the final instalment. The film was by far the best yet in the saga, and I would highly recommend it.
