A WOMAN who blames disabilities that have left her needing care for life on a heart operation she had as a baby has been handed a "substantial" confidential pay out by the NHS in Bristol.

Emma Claire Adams was just four months old when she had an operation at the Bristol Children's Hospital in February 1981 to correct a cardiac abnormality discovered shortly after her birth.
