WHEN we opened as an academy in September 2008, we had a vision: to turn around a local school where standards had not been good enough and to provide a first class education for local children.

We've made some significant improvements at Oasis Academy Brightstowe since then. We have, for example, developed a Pounds 1.8million ICT provision to enhance learning, opened an after- school Learning Cafe - where students are given additional learning support -and been the first in the South West to offer our 16-year- olds the chance to study adult leadership and management qualifications.
