READERS have four weeks left to nominate their favourite police officers and staff for an award.
The hunt is on to find the "Best on the Beat" for the fifth annual Avon and Somerset Community Policing Awards. Organised by the local police authority and constabulary, the awards recognise the outstanding work of neighbourhood policing teams and individuals. The judges are looking for the men and women who often go over and above their call of duty to make life better for people in their communities. The award categories are Neighbourhood Beat Manager of the Year; PCSO (Police Community Support Officer) of the Year; Special Constable of the Year; Neighbourhood Beat Team of the Year and the Outstanding Customer Service Award.
