Summary
IN reference to your article regarding the placement of bollards across Hurlingham Road as a solution to neighbourhood streets; I must ask what on earth the Lib-Dem-led council is thinking? Bristol is home to the superb Sustrans and Montpelier has a very active Transition Town movement, were these parties not included in discussions? Simply closing a road to traffic will never solve the problems of commuter congestion on community roads. Simple, intelligent and city-wide measures need to be taken. Instead, it seems a knee-jerk reaction has been to simply close the road - and to the disgust of local residents to boot.
I hope this mistake is recognised for what it is and discussions can be opened to find a sensible solution to our roads being used as "rat-runs".See the full content of this document
