A NEW head of South Gloucestershire's Criminal Investigation Department has been appointed to take over from retired Stephen Tunks.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Norrie has been with Avon and Somerset police since 2003, having started his career with the Surrey force in 2000. He previously spent time in the Army but followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather by becoming a policeman. He worked as an emergency response officer in south Bristol, then joined the operational planning department at police headquarters. While there he was promoted to inspector and went on to work in road policing and at Bristol Airport. In 2009 he was temporarily promoted to chief inspector and worked on planning the force response to major emergencies.See the full content of this document
