Alan Dicks' City were the more in-form side, kicking off December with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa at Ashton Gate thanks to Jimmy Mann's goal and following up with another 1-0 victory as a Paul Cheesley strike saw of Nottingham Forest on December 14 to smove them to seventh place in Division II.
