ABRISTOL tycoon has emerged as a shock bidder for part of the Lloyds branch network and its business. The part-nationalised bank is selling off a large chunk of its branch network under the terms of the rescue package put together by the Government three years ago.
Clive Cowdery, who was born and brought up in Bristol before leaving to conquer the City of London, is believed to be considering a multi-million pound bid for the branches. Mr Cowdery, who was brought up in a single-parent family and left school with a handful of qualifications, has gone on to become one of the country's most successful businessmen.See the full content of this document
