WHILE I have every sympathy for the cyclist who had the accident with a bollard on the cycle path near Abbey Wood a question springs to mind.
If there is a clearly defined white line down the centre of the path, with one side for pedestrians and the other for cyclists, why on earth was he cycling down the white line in the centre (which he must have been doing to collide with the bollard)? If he had collided with a small child wearing white, would it have been the small child's fault? If he had been cycling in the cycle lane he would have been able to see the bollard.See the full content of this document
