Summary
ONE of the Prime Minister's favourite phrases seems to be "we are all in this together". He often uses it when explaining the need for public spending cuts and exhorting the nation to follow his gloomy route to economic recovery from the financial mess we face as a result of the recklessness and greed of obscenely overpaid hubristic bankers.
Now Income Data Services report that last financial year directors of FTSE 100 companies had an average increase in total earnings of 49 per cent, to Pounds 2.7million. Considering that the Cabinet Room is regularly occupied by an assemblage of millionaire ministers it would appear that while the rest of the population most definitely are "in this together", our political and business elite are obviously and very comfortably not!See the full content of this document
