ROGER Neno, who rescued three people during the inferno that followed a terrifying accident on the M5, is the final Evening Post/ First Gold Star winner. Seven people died and 51 people were injured in the 34-vehicle crash near Taunton on November 4. At around 8.25pm wedding photographer Mr Neno, 54, and his wife Ciara, 39, were returning to their home in Weston-super-Mare after meeting a customer in Yeovil. After joining the motorway's northbound carriageway at Junction 25, Mr Neno said he was confronted by "thick, impenetrable fog" and the brake lights of an Iceland lorry in front.

They stopped in the middle lane just short of a lorry which had hit vehicles in front of it.
