Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra: Colston Hall THE BSO sported a new principal conductor, Kirill Karabits, for its first visit to the Colston Hall this season. He is not new to the orchestra of course having appeared as a guest conductor on several occasions. Here he had the opportunity to stamp his authority on proceedings in three disciplines.
First came the sharp-edged sounds of Bohuslav Martinu''s The Frescoes of Piero della Francesca. Composed in 1955 it incorporated a mix of many of the musical elements associated with the first half of the 20th century including Jazz and Folksong.See the full content of this document
