THE boss of a Bristol health trust has denied that the contract for the new Pounds 430-million Southmead Hospital will threaten patient care.

Chief executive Ruth Brunt said that the Pounds 37-million-a- year deal to build it "represents good value for money" and was the only way the city could have a new, modern hospital.
