Castle Open Days to Be Cut Back to Save Money

Berkeley Castle is pulling up the drawbridge and cutting the number of days it is open to the public because of a continuing fall in the number of visitors.

The trustees of the castle's charitable trust said it is losing pounds100,000 a year and needs to make savings by reducing the number of days it is open to the public to about 100 a year.
