THE Government will not axe the new Pounds 430-million hospital that dealt a "death blow" to Frenchay because it would cost too much money to cancel it.

Health minister Simon Burns also confirmed yesterday that Frenchay's burns unit will move from the South Gloucestershire hospital to the new Southmead, which is under construction, but no decision has been made on the brain unit.
