Jeff West returned home to find drug addict Neil Hobbs about to steal his children's computer games console in the middle of the afternoon. After leaving sons AJ, 10, and Leo, six, outside the front door for their safety, brave Mr West then tackled Hobbs head on, refusing to let him escape. Yesterday, 39-year-old Hobbs, of no fixed address, was jailed for two years and eight months at Bristol Crown Court. Mr West told the Evening Post what happened on Sunday, October 30, just after 1pm. AJ had been playing football then the trio went for a carvery, with no idea what they were about to find when they came home to Oldbury Court Road, Fishponds. "When I opened the front door I noticed a pair of legs in the front room," said Mr West, 41.
