KEEN to be closer to family and friends following his retirement, Steve Pearson decided it was time to swap the leafy appeal of Hampshire's New Forest for his hometown of Bristol.

And thanks to George Wimpey's Portus development in Portishead, he and his wife Annie, pictured, found they didn't have to give up the attractive and relaxing environment which they had enjoyed near Southampton.
