TO take a quotation from William Shakespeare''s Romeo and Juliet: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose would by any other name smell as sweet." As Juliet Capulet, who said those words to Romeo Montague, discovered when referring to people rather than inanimate objects, unfortunately they are not always a true reflection of the response you might receive when identifying someone by name.

With that in mind several musical clubs have either, or are discussing, the idea of dropping the word Operatic from their title.
