They went a goal down within the first five minutes and were pinned inside their own half for much of the opening half by the home side, who stretched their lead with two further goals.

A much-needed half-time break and an inspiring team talk saw Yate come out for the restart invigorated. They were awarded a penalty, which Ben Cush duly dispatched, and shortly afterwards some great wing play by Josh Cann and Jack Winter saw the latter play a ball back for George Cryer to finish coolly for his first Yate goal.
