Court Told Man Run Over by Girlfriend's Former Partner

A MAN was punched in the face then run over with a car after his pregnant partner argued with her ex-boyfriend, a court has heard. Shaun Sheppard's leg was shattered during the alleged attack at the hands of brothers Joe and Jeremy Musgrave in The Grove, Cadbury Heath, in November last year. Joe Musgrave, 26, denies making threats to kill, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving. Jeremy Musgrave, 23, denies causing actual bodily harm.

Drugs Seized in Raid On Property

MEPHEDRONE, ecstasy and LSD have been seized by police in a raid on a property in Kingsdown. Detectives from a Bristol drugs team found 250g of mephedrone also known as Miaow Miaow, various quantities of other drugs and Pounds 1,500 in cash at the premises in Armada Place after executing a search warrant on Monday.

'One Too Many' After Basketball

A YOUNG basketball player was arrested for downing one too many post-game drinks - after losing against a team from police headquarters. Joshua Brain, of Nags Head Hill, St George, had stopped off at the pub with the rest of his Speedwell team for a commiseratory pint after losing a game on October 6. The 21-year-old left the pub and at 11.35pm police spotted him driving at speed along the Kingsway in St George.

Youth Centre Teenagers to Host Meeting

TEENAGERS at Fromeside Youth Centre in Winterbourne are hosting a community meeting and have invited people to have a look around the building at the same time. A Safer Stronger Community Group meeting will be held at the club tonight from 6pm to 8pm.

A SAVING of almost Pounds 50,000 could be made on utility bills at Longwell Green Leisure Centre over the next ten years after a gas turbine was installed.
