Wood Makes the Cut ; in Brief

GOLF: Nailsea 21-year-old Chris Wood, third in the Open two weeks ago, was joint 18th after the second day of the European Tour Moravia Silesia Open in the Czech Republic. The 21-year-old moved to five under with a hat-trick of birdies from the 11th hole, and then another at the first, but bogeyed the third and fourth holes for a 70 and three-under aggregate.

RUGBY: The Bristol Rugby community department are starting a new scheme to help local rugby clubs raise funds for their mini and junior sections by helping them at their family days or festivals. The community department would like to offer the free use and staffing of its inflatable bungee run, which clubs can then charge a small fee for people to use.

POLICE want to speak to this man in connection with the shooting at the Maytree pub in Headley Park a week ago. At 8.30pm, the victim, a 24-year-old local man, was outside socialising at the pub in St Peter's Rise when he was shot in the leg.
